What Does Connerly & Associates Actually Do?

Connerly & Associates is a lobbying firm whose clients have included the Roofing Contractors Association of California, California Building Officials, the California Vendors Policy Committee, the Roofing Contractors Association of Southern California, and the Associated Roofing Contractors of Northern California.

C&A also originates home repair loans, does housing rehabilitation consulting and administers community development block grants. In 1995 the San Jose Mercury News reported that Connerly had entered contracts with thirty cities and counties to administer these grants, and that out of grants totaling $3.2 million Connerly and his wife earned more than $1 million in consulting, contracting and implementation fees. In 2003 the Associated Press reported that Connerly earns about $450 an hour for his work at C&A. According to the Sacramento Bee, Connerly has said he uses roughly half of his salary from ACRI and ACRC (not counting speaking fees) to reimburse Connerly & Associates.
